A MESSAGE FROM THE CHEERLEADERS:

The Pickens Academy Cheerleaders are hosting a 
Cancer Awareness “Pink” Pep Rally 
on October 25th at 2:00.
The pep rally is to
 
HONOR ALL CANCER SURVIVORS THAT
HAVE A CONNECTION TO PA.

They are asking these “Heroes” to come and participate in this event. We will have PA cancer awareness t-shirts, jewelry and pink spirit shakers on sale. The proceeds from these sales, along with any donations, will be given to help find a cure for cancer. Pickens Academy hopes to have all fans “pinked” out for the game, as we cheer the Pirates to a win over Patrician.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes is in full swing.  FCA meets each Friday during Football Season at 7:00 am. All Athletes and Band members (6th -12th Grades) are invited to attend. Cost $3.00 per student. Make plans to come have a great breakfast and fellowship with other believers.

The music department is in need of 5-gallon buckets in good condition. We will take other sizes too. We also need old Bundt pans (it is not necessary that these be in "GREAT condition”). If you or someone you know has either of these items and would like to donate them, please bring them by the band room.

The Pilot Club is sponsoring a project to help the Ronald McDonald Houses of Alabama.  We are collecting the tabs off beverage cans.  We would love for you to save these for us at your home or at work.  This is a worthy cause.  Ronald McDonald Houses are a home-away-from-home for families of seriously ill patients in any area hospitals.  Thanks you in advance for your support of this project.

Please become a member of our PTO. The yearly membership dues are $20.00 per family. We appreciate the PTO providing resources for a successful learning environment to our students and teachers. Membership is open to grandparents, alumni, and other family and friends of PA. If you are interested in being a member, please contact the office at 205-367-8144.
The deadline for seniors to join PTO is October 31st.

The Rada Knife fundraiser will begin on October 15th and end on November 5th. The Rada products make great birthday, wedding and Christmas presents.

Parents remember that grades can be viewed on line when
you login into Edline.
  If you activated your account last year there is no need to reactivate.  If you have problems accessing your Edline line accounts please call Mrs. Owens or email her at dowens@pickensacademy.com. Each time a teacher post new grades you should get an email stating that reports have been
added to your child’s account.
